I remember being terrified in Br. Dennis's class. Some of us managed to overcome his vicious moods by asking questions about a birds nest we had found.

All class work would stop and the Tuiseal Gineadeach of a particular word or whatever grammar we were supposed to have learned off by heart would be put to one side as he went off on a tangent talking about different wild birds, their eggs, nesting habits etc.

Weren't we cute enough for young fellows in fourth class!!
