Back in the 1940s, there was a shop on Thomas Street owned by Carneys. Miss Carney ran the shop. She had a brother who worked for Lavelles Bakery and another brother a county councillor at one time. THat's just a hazy memory. Somebody like Ould Stock or Oliver might remember
