low work farming talk at the museum

Posted by Ed Gilligan on April 23, 2011 at 02:59:26:

I read about a low weekly work farming talk at the museum and I wonder if some one could give me some pointers on the suggestions. I have a 4 acre mini farm, 2 barns and a honey barn and want to increase the wild live, ducks, turkey, deer, goose and bees. You should hear the honks of the 30 lbs goose flying around the house. One today was on top of what you call a sun room. We call it a 3 season room to keep cool in the summer. The fertilizer will be delivered, air born yet. Why didn't I think of this before? I will not have to buy animals, pen them up, feed them and not have my neighbor call the police on me, because my animals are on his land. I told the sheriff to go to church about the goose, they belong to God. What to plant? I plan to dig 2 big fish ponds. I hope God will turn this into one of His refuges, Johnleary.com talks about. A lot of healing is suppose to happen at those places.
One idea to test old seeds is to wrap some in a paper napkin or towel and soak it in water and then drain in a saucer and put over the refrigerator for a few days, to see if they sprout.
I was looking to buy a back hoe, but in these bad times, I will rent for $300 a day. Must keep the money working in the stocks, if I can. I went back in the stocks. Doing good. Two rentals are empty for 2 years. My son Mike is in one. There are 100,000 empty houses in Illinois. All the foreclosed and for sale homes are for rent now, plus the rentals. Many people have given up looking for jobs. I hear some persons are getting calls to go to work, not the construction workers. Grateful for any suggestions. Waiting for warm weather. This land is clay and will grow 6 foot weeds. Wish I had some pete. Pruning the fruit trees. culater
