CRCfm

Posted by Bernard Halligan on May 03, 2011 at 02:05:46:

Well, I just spent 2 hours listening to Johnny Oosten of CRCfm radio on-line. The show was taped at my nephew's house at 105 McHale Road, the home of John & Geraldine Redmond. It was 2 hours well spent as he chatted to many of the McHale Road residents, including Mrs Kilcourse, now the matriarch of the road having lived there all her life, my sister Breege Redmond, my nephew Philip Redmond who gave a great rendition of The Red Rose cafe, John Fair and many others. It was great to hear all of the stories of times past, not only on Mchale Road but in the old town. We need more of this type of entertainment on the airwaves because in my opinion there is nothing beter than hearing the long time residents talk about the "good old days". They were hard times for sure, but people helped their neighbours and showed concern. Unfortunately, things have changed in our "dog eat dog" world of today.

Ah the good old times.
