Eddie Lynn was a well-known figure around Castlebar through the '60s and earlier. Didn't he have a caretaker's flat above the arch in the Military Barracks? He was often to be seen shopping for groceries in Christy Hobans of Castle Street.
He died around '68-'69, and his remains were taken back - I think - to somewhere in the midlands (Athlone, perhaps?) where I guess he was from. Oliver Killeen will surely know more about him?
