Interesting...however, I don't ever remember bonfires being held at Halloween. They were always held on the eve of St John's day 23rd. June I think. And as far as I know, it was mainly in the west of Ireland that we celebrated bonfire's night, they never heard of such events east of the Shannon. Likewise, in Leinster, they have bonfires at Guy Fawkes November 5th. which I suppose is following the British traditions.
