I did indeed write about Major Chads, who incidentally was born at the Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare c.1890. Unfortunately, I took the reports from the local newspapers of the times, and as you can see from Brian Hoban's excellent piece the reporters took certain liberties with the facts. You can't win them all. The Lafayette Studio in London had a photograph of Major Chads, his father and two brothers in full dress uniforms, on its website, but it seems to have been removed.
