a cara......the winter dance party was a tour of midwestern cities.....their final stop was on the night of february 3 1959 at the surf ballroom ...in clear lake iowa......at the end of the shopw ....bus problems...had buddy holly charter a plane ....ironically ...waylon jennings....flipped a coin with j.p richardso....as did ....ritchie valens ...with tommy allsup.....the plane with four on board.....buddy holly......ritchie valens....j.p. the big bopper richardson...and the pilot...roger peterson took off at 12.55 a.m.......this plane crashhas been called the greatest tradgedy rock and roll suffered......and this event has been immortalised by ...don mclean...in his song....american pie....but who can forget ....peggy sue....donna....and chantilly lace....hellloooo babyie......
.....ironically this tragedy haunts waylon jennings to this day...because of some jossiny ...with holly.....
