I came across an article in a Connaught Telegraph dated August 1964, which shows a photograph of the late John F Kennedy with his then bodyguard, Marty Heffernan. Marty, a 54 year old retired detective from Akron, Ohio was a cousin of the late Josie Munnelly, Station Road and was bodyguard to the then Senator Kennedy during his presidential campaign. When Kennedy became President, Marty took up an appointment to the sheriff’s office in Akron County, Ohio so wasn’t with him on his final day in Dallas.
