.....i know my reputation may be zero....but my pride in my home town is golden....this is not a very good name choice....or is poilitical sway mightier than urban pride....
.....i read on the castlebar news ....a street in castlebar is to be renamed ....to honour padraic flynn.....now although padraic rose to the illustrious heights of e. u . commisioner for social services...with the largest budget in this union at his fingertips...his record ...and the record of his party falls much short of honour.....i know padraic welll.....we go back to halcyon days ....but i also know the ruthlessness of his hubristic character...must we perpetuate this arrogance.........now im not one to call the kettle black....but i take my lumps in the board game of life......and renaming a street in honour of padraic flynn is as shameful as calling a strret after me..but perhaps we could call it the bridle path......i believe this street mentioned encroaches on mchale road boundaries....its insulting .....this man attempted to create a political dynasty ....but thank goodness it dissolved....lets take another look at a more appropriate name....i love the town of my birth...its a wonderful place.....
