Hi Dean, I was born in Castlebar during the 'forties but don't remember any Kirby family. However, my maternal grandmother was Kirby from Glenisland, near Castlebar. I don't remember any other relatives with that name. Also, there was a family of that name in Cogaula, (Westport area)...no close connection of ours as far as I know though I did know one of that family. Sorry, not much positive in the way of information. Wishing you the best of luck in your search.
