Islandeady Ambush 1921

May 6 is the anniversary of the death of two young Islaneady lads killed in the Islandeady ambush of May 6, 1921: Thomas O'Malley (20 years) and Thomas Lally (19 years). Their grave is in Islandeady graveyard, on the high ground with beautiful vistas. There are still relatives in the district .
