I forgot to add that a lot of the people that lived on McHale Road came from other parts of Castlebar because living conditions there were very poor no indoor toilets etc. unlike McHale Road houses that had indoor toilets. My father and his brother Pete came up from Castle St. in the late 30's. I am sure a lot of people can trace where their fathers and mothers came from they did'nt all just appear from nowhere on McHale Road. Best regards Oliver.
