With regards to the pilot W.U. Dykes:

I keep wondering of he is one of the two people who flew out to spot the R34 on its return from the USA on the 17th of July 1919. In this magazine (see link) on the right page close to the bottom, under the heading: Land in sight. On the next page (right arrow above the reader) it says: "9.10 p.m.—Two-seater aeroplane from neighbourhood
of Castlebar flying past us and under us, waving a welcome.".

This may be in the local newspapers or other sources.
