The picture does not show recognizable faces. It shows a row of workman and 1 or 2 people in suits.

I am not sure about copyrights so Alan can answer that, it may be best if those interested had a look in the Library. Neither Alan nor myself think the picture is clear.

If there is much interest, maybe someone could compile the different posts into one clear article or story, and put it in the library or a local paper or a web-page.

As yet, there is no confirmation of the Freestones having met Michael Collins except some memories from conversations in the early fifties. So that would need some more evidence.

I am not sure how many details will be found about W.U. Dykes' stay in Ireland. I think Maryland House no longer exists. There may be photos of it with pilots in/around it.

The story of the first transatlantic crossing by plane (June 1917) and Blimp/Zeppelin (July 1917) both arriving over Clifden and, possibly, one or both being greeted by airman from Castlebar may have been recorded somewhere.


I have been surprised by the interest in the story with the pics on picasaweb getting 70 views.
