Pecker Dunne RIP

I see that Pecker Dunne was born in Castlebar in 1932. Wikipedia has:

Patrick "Pecker" Dunne (Castlebar, County Mayo, 1 April 1932 - Killimer, County Clare, 19 December 2012[1] ) was an Irish musician and seanchaí.
... and there was a tribute on RTE news last evening.

Anyone got any Castlebar stories or did he ever reside here for any length of time?
