I am deeply saddened and shocked to learn of the death of my old and dear friend Noel McCarthy.Noel and I were bestfriends in our days of youth.I fondly remember our playing in Noels backyard with Gabriel Ansboro and Tony McGlinskey ,two things jump from my heart in remembering these cherished friendship...one was our fishing expedition at the town river were we caught a huge eel it struggled so hard it broke our rod.. another experience was in the early 50s Noel ask me to add a shilling to his shilling so we could place a bet on a sure thing .. flush royal ..the horse came in and we won large amount .. I was scared to bring my half home so Noel became my banker. Another remembrance was both of us going to the county hospital to visit our mutual friend Gabriel Ansboro who was very ill...our many trips to pontoon are etched in my heart..these is indeed a sad day.I send my sincerest condolences to the family. I extend my deepest sympathy to his sister Breege.
So long my old friend .... may you rest in peace.
