Frank Fergus R.I.P

Posted by oliver killeen on April 12, 2014 at 08:26:04:

Its with profound shock I learned of the death of Frank Fergus. Frank and I were good friends and neighbours .Our many chats by the railings on mc hale road are so fondly brought to mind..our many F.C.A encounters are hilarious....one such encounter comes to mind we were both in the honor guard at the unveiling of the 1798 monument at the mall... as De Valera took the salute.. the officer gave the wrong command he yelled deas umpi instead of cle umpi everyone but Frank and I turned the wrong way...........years later Frank phoned me from new York telling me he was bringing students from new York to play students in Toronto in a soccer match and ask me to meet him which I did.... we had a couple of days later..... The Fergus family were an old established beacon of mc hale road. My deepest sympathy to the family. The old lanterns of mc hale road are falling dim.The old guard is fading away...farewell Frank
