McHale Road, Castlebar

As a child (in 1956) I visited Castlebar where I believe I still have family. My maternal Grandmother was Bridget Cunningham born 1891 and I can remember visiting and staying at 4 McHale Road, Chas Guthrie and his wife Bridie who had several children the youngest baby boy (Jo Jo). We visited 'Red' Michael Cunningham and his family and 'Black' Michael Cunningham, also Gran's sister Mary-Ellen who had two huge pigs in the garden and Jimmy Dean who took us out in a little boat. I was only about 7 years old at the time so my memory is limited on details of addresses. I am planning a visit for 2015 so would love to find some family to visit. My Grandmother Bridget Cunningham married a Michael Halligan and they moved to UK in 1924. My mother (also Bridget) was born in the Athlone Army Barracks in 1922 so was only 2 when she arrived in UK.
