Well said Bernard. My memories are similar but I think I was a year behind you with an even more gentle soul - Bro. Damian (aka"Birdie"). The coal fire, the siopa in the RH corner of the class room, preparing ink for the ink wells - no peann luaidhe, the ink was a greeny-blue (some powder mixed with water) that was drunk by some of the more adventurous etc. My memories of 6th class are great.
