I am indeed shocked and very saddened to hear the grim news of the desth of my desr friend pete mcdonnell. ..shocked more because not so very long ago his brother jimmy died....both were very special boyhood friends. ...pete I remember when he was young had to have heart surgery...and I remember then although young I felt concerned. ..in his working life...he managed peter devers service station at newline...I was home from Canada bought a ford customline..and go there for gas. ...pete with a big smile would come out....well olly how much will I put in her...fill it up pete.....how many gallons will that yoke take..about 22...jeez I'll be pumping all day....no room for othet cars. .then of course pete managed tom colls pumps for years. ..many a chat we had in number5...many a chat we had in ainsworth s later morans pub...where his picture hung for years....to the family my deepest and sincerest condolences. ..pete no more canvas tents in our backgardens...no more shows ..in the sheds
..we collected alot of buttons. ..farewell my dear friend. ..I will miss you.
