The name Golden Mile came about
when Mayo Co.Co.many years ago
did a mile long section on the Breaffy road from about the Baxter
area to about Kilkenny roundabout.
When it was questioned at a meeting of Mayo Co.Co.and the cost disclosed certain Cllrs.,stated it must coated with
gold.
