there was a posting here in this forum that led me to records of families who had their homes torn down by "The Crowbar Brigade" in the Castlebar area. Did you notice in the books when you read them if that same sort of information was available for the Lahardaun area?
And have you gleaned any notion as to how a young Catholic Irish man would manage to sail to Canada in the 1830's? He would have had no way to earn the money to go and he would have been dressed in rags. How would he have managed, did they have deporation for crimes committed in those years? Could he have been sent to Canada if he were a trouble maker at home?
Thank you for the books and Authors I wish I could get them here more quickly than the couple weeks they will take to travel to me. I'm on a deadline here for finishing a novel. I'll order them and after my deadline passes I'll have time to do a rewrite for historical accuracy.
