As I understand it Kelly ,after the famine had devoured the people, the staple food of the labouring class, was ground indian corn or "Yellow Meal", and small wet potatoes. It was a time of hunger and misery. I don't know by whose efforts that, "Indian Meal 'came to Ireland. But it just did'nt grow feet and walk here. anyone?
