Dont know if you are right about Indian meal becoming the staple food of the labouring classes after the Famine, Butch. Anything I read about the same foodstuff suggests it was held in poor regard by the people even though vast amounts of it were imported.But I'm no expert in this and I too would like to hear more about it from anyone.
