We do know, however, that there have been very severe problems apparently within the eircom network which are plaguing people with dial-up connections. We are not hosted with eircom but obviously a lot of people dial-up via eircom and suffer this problem. It makes us look bad even though it has nothing to do with us. The rumour is that broadband users are 'trashing' the network. Those with dial-up modems or ISDN lines are suffering with very long periods of minutes at a time when it is not possible to make any contact with any website or email. At home we have experienced this problem ourselves and have written a letter of complaint to eircom support service including a bandwidth graph to illustrate the problem.
