My grandmother and grandfather came from Mayo, Castlebar, Burren, area. Grandmother was Mary Margaret Conroy and grandfather was John Joseph Gillespie – they came to US in 1897and 1901 and were married in Colorado. I know my grandmother had a sister Nora Conroy who remained there and who married a John Murry or Murray. My grandmother’s mother was a Mctigue. The last living relative we knew of were Nora and Paddie McTigue who lived at 23 New Line Rd. – I have since found out that both are gone now. Nora died about 7 years ago (according to your local historian Brian Hoban). However, I know that Nora had a sister Bridget, and a Maggie as well. One of them married a Crosby and I have pictures of their children who would know be in their 50;s or 60’s .
Any ideas of how to find anyone still living there who might have ties to my family. ???
