Butch,I so enjoy your contributions.Sometimes it can be weeks before I look back at the postings lI can assure you its not bad manners or haughty taughtyness.Jimmy Foy lived on McHale Road.Originally the family lived on Staball.Jimmy was a porter in the Allied Irish Bank and as far as Im concerned one of Castlebars finest and wittiest characters.Mc hale Road to him was 52nd Street at the corner of 53rd.He enjoyed his bevys in just about every pub but he especially enjoyed Johnny Mc Hales, which he referred to as the Office.Across the road was the Welcome Inn which he called the glue pot.The anectdotal stories which he told about his time working with the bacon factory as a driver, the merchant navy,1947 the great snow as in the UK perspective were so gooood.I just felt so lucky to have heard these stories. They would take so long to recount,Someday Butch I will tell you.
