I found the Beatles link.
"June 25 1967
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE is seen live by satellite by 400 million viewers in 24 different countries, marking the first international satellite broadcast. "

Can't find anything else though about this transmission. I have a distinct memory of open heart surgery in a Houston hospital. It probably wasn't a transplant although Barnard did the very first transplant in 1967 too. There was something from Brazil also I seem to remember and lots of other events around the world. The first inkling of the global village and precursor of d'internet?

Anyone else watch this programme in 1967? (Boy I'm giving away my age category now).
