I can remember that walk to the Point also. You described it so well. How many fields had we to walk through to get there? It seemed such a long way then but well worth it when we arrived. Did it ever rain during summer in the 60s? All I can remember are very warm sunny days when we just hadn't a care in the world and just about every day was spent up at the lake. I always hated crossing those wooden bridges - remember the one below Brett's boreen?
