Decide the conclusion - how do you want thing s to turn out.
Set the sceanario.
Start the action & make make sure we know who is who (not too many actors)- difficult to follow if we cannot remember who is who.
Story with ongoing analysis of motives - helps the lazyy minded among us.
Disaster(s)& misery - no good story lacks these.
Wrap up/conclusion/wise narrator/moral lesson.
Collective appreciative sigh.
Done deal.
