Pat,
We are currently researching the History of the 5th CAV. SQN. CASTLEBAR,[or the 5th Motor Squadron as it was known then.], with a view to record and document as much as possible to date.
We would be very interested in hearing from anyone who served in the Unit from 1959 onwards [The year the Unit was officially set up].
We are paticularly interested in receiving any old photographs of people serving, or pictures of the old armoured cars and Landrovers,{Do you remember the Fords, Leylands and Unimogs that had to be started with the 'bucket of steam'.... ?}, or any story of old times of excercises or camps,{What was it like to wear the Bulls Wool in the Glen..?}.
