Going for a stroll in the Old Graveyard,I came across the grave of Ethel Staunton,(Lord have mercy on her) who lived in Spencer Street and it brought back nice memories of going for walks 'up the Lawn'.I would always meet Ethel with her lovely dog ( remember Dopey? )& she always had time to chat.We would then meet another lovely lady who passed away recently,(God be good to her); Mrs.B.Durcan from Rock Square who for years & years looked after the flowers just inside the entrance of the Lawn, alongside Sr.Oliver who's still going great.I went up there recently & it had a slightly run down appearance. It would be great if maybe the pupils of the Schools up there undertook the task of painting the statue, weeding etc..
Bye for now..
