Just by chance while looking through some old photographs prior to meeting up with some frieds who were back in town after many years in Canada and the U.S, I came across a programme from the Song Contest. The programme is for the final of the contest on Monday night October 10th. but doesn't say the year! I reckon about 1996/1967?The words of the final entries are printed on the programme and on the last page is " My Home Town Castlebar" with lyrics and music by Nan Monaghan.
Spiceloft, you feature in some of the old photos mentioned above, and Margaret and Ronnie originally from Mc Hale Road,said to say hello to you. They are both looking forward to reading the book.
