There is a lovely article on the church in the 1999 Castlebar Parish Magazine. No author is named, however, thanks is extended to "Ivor Hamrock, County Library staff for his assistance in researching the history of the Castlebar church project". Much the same information has appeared in other articles. The article includes an "artist's impression of the church". The artist's name is not given but it is a sketch of your photo.

Three Wynne Collection photos of the church, during its building and collapse in the storm of 1900, are presented in the book Faces of Ireland 1875-1925, published by The Appletree Press (1980, 1984). One of the photos shows the workers on the project. One of these workers, then a youth, went on to establish the building firm J.P. McCormack & Sons in Castlebar, and his firm worked on the church in later years.
