Thanks for the endorsment Tempus. Before the face of Castlebar is unrecognisable to our generation, and culture buried under the contractors bulldozer,there is a great need to document this history. Has the project allready started? YES!.We have been at it for nearly four years or more;e.g.see "Kids on Main St." Muirsin Durcan photgraphed every tavern in the town. Murrisk posted a list of the names of people who owned a buisness in the town some seventy five years ago or so. He then posed the question;If a list of the names of current buisness owners was drawn up, how many names would remain the same?.Hundreds of photographs have been archived by M & Co. in our database.
