I got the information in Castlebar Library which has a huge amount of local studies books,maps etc.
People mightn't know that our local newspaper;the Connaught Telegraph is the oldest provincial newspaper in the country & the Library have all the past issues of it and others ie.Western People,Mayo News on microfilm.I do alot of research & use the Library alot.The piece about the exhibition is from the Connaught Telegraph exactly one hundred years ago & some of the prizes given besides home made rossettes were some of the exhibits such as agricultural produce,lace,etc.
