A Ned,about two years or maybe three there was a thread on the main B.B. started by a russian girl who claimed she could speak better Irish then any one else???!!Now As I re-call there was an Irish school mentioned (ie for the sole purpose of)I believe it is in County Mayo Now I personally have not done any research in this matter......When I left Ireland many moons ago, there was a society (government funded) called simply "Gael-Linn" dedicated to to the upkeep if you will or continuence of the Irish language. They will issue to a fluent Irish speaker a jacket emblem called a "Gold Fainne",and for an Irish speaker not quite so polished a "Silver fainne". Word of mouth is generally the only way you will find an Irish speaker. I would suggest you access the Gael linn web page, ST Geralds national College, in C.Bar, St patrick's national school in C.Bar. I will have a gander around meself. Seamas
