This photograph was originally thought to come from Castlebar - outside St. Geralds on Chapel Street - and/or be a photo taken at the funeral of the first president of Ireland Douglas de hÍde or Douglas Hyde. This is one of the long-running mysteries of the Casltebar Nostalgia Board. It is now approaching resolution thanks to Ferdia. Ferdia has recognised the location of the photo. It was taken in front of the CBS in Fermoy,Co Cork. He grew up and went to school there before moving to Balla.

The photo was first posted by Murrisk following the death of an elderly lady in Castlebar who had it among her possessions.
