CBE are developers and manufacturers of software for the retail sector. The company has been very successful in the development and commercialisation of supermarket scanning software, hospitality software for hotels, pubs and restaurants. The company was the first in the world to invent software that enables telephone top-ups to be sold through tills like any other shopping item rather than having to go through a separate terminal. CBE has grown from three people in 1980 to 110 people in 2007.
