Second round FAI Senior Cup match

Following a very positive result in Derry where Castlebar Celtic drew  0 – 0 to Derry City… the excitement is brewing!

This is the first time a Mayo club has ever reached the second round, and it’s the first time Shamrock Rovers has ever played a competitive match in Mayo.

All the action will take place on Sunday 28 May at Celtic Park, Castlebar – kick off is at 2.30pm.

This fixture against one of Ireland's biggest clubs is sure to attract a massive crowd, and tickets are selling fast!

Tickets are €12 for adults / €5 students & senior citizens.

One of biggest games in Castlebar Celtic's history takes place next
Sunday when the 2nd round of the FAI Carlsberg Senior Challenge Cup
between Celtic and Shamrock Rovers will take place in Celtic Park on
Sunday May 28th @ 2.30 pm.

Rovers are currently in 2nd place in the eircom League First Division and
come to Castlebar in good form. Managed by Pat Scully and boasting
quality players such as the Irish U-21 goalkeeper Barry Murphy, Aidan
Price, Ray Scully, Robbie Shields, Philip Sheppard and Ray Kenny, this is
going to be a difficult fixture for the home side.

Celtic had a great result last Tuesday night when holding a strong Derry
City scoreless in a challenge match at the Brandywell. Watch by a crowd
between 300 to 400 Celtic performed well to hold one of Ireland top
teams.  This was a great work out prior to the game this Sunday and will
hopefully bode well for player manager Gavin Dykes and the team.

The Castlebar Committee have put in a lot of time and energy so this
match could take place in Celtic Park. The club is calling on the people
of Castlebar to come out and support their local club is what should be a
fantastic match

The game is all ticket priced at €12 for adults and €5 for youths and senior citizens.
