THE FINAL On Saturday the 12/6/04/ at 1:45 St. Patrick's
B.N.S. were against St. Aidan's Kiltimagh in the national
school's county final. St Aidan's took an early lead in the
first few minutes but St. Patrick's came back with two goals
by Micheal Mc Donagh and Conor Griffin and points by David
Stenson from long range. But St. Aidan's Ciaran Charlton put
over some good scores. There was some great play down the
right wing between Ciaran O'Malley, David Stenson and Liam
Martin. At half time St Patrick's went in the happier side
leading by five points. In the second half St Aidan's came out
very strong and closed the gap to three points. Five minutes
into the second half Alan Quinn came on for Michael Mc Donagh.
Ten minutes into the second half Alan Quinn and Conor Griffin
made a great one-two and Conor finished it with a
point. With ten minutes to go St. Aidan's got a free ten
yards from goal and the St. Aidan's player went for goal but a
great save from Danny Kirby prevented the goal. Then the final
whistle was blown and St. Patrick's are the new County
Champion's. The final score was St. Patrick's 2-10 St. Aidan's
0-9.

School Quiz Teams By Paul Regan
This year our school took part in several different
Quizzes involving Sport and General Knowledge. The trials took
place early in January with several trials for both
competitions. The senior General Knowledge panel consisted of
Michael Diskin, David Joyce, Liam Martin, Aidan Walsh, Brian
Fahey, Paul Regan and Michael Walsh and the junior panel
consisted of Mark Durkan, Kevin Barry, Adrian Rocke, Jack
Murray and Harry Canning. The sports quiz members were Michael
Diskin, David Joyce, David Stenson and Aidan Walsh. The "B"
team was James Connor, Rory Byrne, Nigel Naughton and Ciaran
O'Malley. The first quiz for the General Knowledge team
was the Credit Union Quiz held in Davitt College at the end of
January. Unfortunately both teams failed to progress on to the
second round. In contrast the Sports Quiz team triumphed in
their attempt to reach the Mayo Final with the B team also
doing well. Next up for the General Knowledge team was the
Pioneer Quiz held in Davitt College. Both teams bid quite well
but still failing to progress forward. The Mayo Sports Quiz
held in the Welcome Inn ended in triumph with the lads from
St. Pats claiming victory. The big test for the General
Knowledge teams came in Rice College on the 23rd of
March for the Cadbury's Quiz. Again both teams failed to
qualify but consolation for the senior team was that they all
won spot prizes! A special thanks our tutors Mr. Keena, Mr.
Devaney, Mr. Geraghty, Mr. McEvilly and Ms. McGrath and Ms.
Chambers for the work they put in during the year.
