River Moy

The water levels are now normal for this time of year and with the big run of grilse of grilse having started at the weekend the outlook is good for the next few weeks.
The Ridge Pool had its first good day of the year with 37 grilse caught and big numbers will be upstream as the fish move up.
There are still some fresh big fish being caught as reflected by a salmon of 11lbs. with sea lice caught on the Foxford Fishery.
402 salmon were reported.
Heaviest fish weighing 13.5lbs. was caught by Trevor Johnston Coventry and another day he had 4 grilse one of which was released.
Robert Bagge Ward England had 1 fish weighing 11lbs.
David Chatterton had I fish weighing 10lbs.
Ken Tucker England had a fish of 8.5lbs.
Anthony Mapledoram England had 5 fish best 10.5lbs.
Melvin Hughes Wales had 3 grilse best 4lbs.
Louis Brennan Tuam had 3 grilse best 3.28lbs.

Moy Estuary

The sea-trout fishing is slow at the moment due to the difficult weather, however it has to improve with lots of fish up to 5lbs. moving each day.

Lough Conn

The trout fishing is poor at the moment with bright sunshine and light winds and fly hatches non existent during the day.
There should be some fishing in the evenings with sedges and buzzers but there are few boats out.
Most of the boats are trolling for salmon and this should improve with big numbers of grilse running.
Tommy and Paddy Reynolds Longford had 2 salmon weighing 15lbs. and 6lbs.
Eddie Sheridan Longford had 3 grilse.
