Ireland West Airport Knock announced that Ryanair will begin operating a new route between Ireland West Airport Knock and Nottingham East Midlands Airport. The four times a week service will commence on February 27th 2007 and will complement Ryanair’s existing daily scheduled flights from Ireland West Airport Knock into London Luton and London Stansted airports.

The new service will bring 60,000 additional passengers per annum through Ireland West Airport Knock. Welcoming the new route Mr Liam Scollan, MD, Ireland West Airport Knock said: "We are actively striving to expand further the Airport’s network of scheduled flight services into the UK and the addition of this new route operated by Ryanair will provide a valuable service to our holiday and business passengers both in our region and in Britain. Tourists on this route will fill 113,000 extra bednights in our accommodation sector and bring in an estimated €8M in additional tourism spend to the West and North West region."

To celebrate the new route, Ryanair are making 15,000 seats on the three routes from Ireland West Knock available for just €2.99 (one-way excluding taxes and charges) on www.ryanair.com, and passengers are advised to book immediately, as demand will be very strong.

Nottingham East Midlands Airport is a highly populated area of central England, 13 miles southwest of Nottingham, 17 miles southeast of Derby and 19 miles northwest of Leicester making it a principal gateway to the Midlands.
