Snugboro United got their season back on the rails on Saturday evening last (10th Aug 2002) with a well deserved victory over the home side.
The game was preceded by an impeccably observed minute's silence as a tribute to the Quinn and Hopkins families.
Snugboro without a win in three games, their worst run of the season, started brightly and created early chances for Padraig Conway, Aaron Curry and David Roughneen whose long range shot rebounded off the post. Declan Prendergast , in the Ballyglass goal, was showing admirable composure and made some good saves but he was powerless to prevent a stinging shot from Danny Lawless nestling in the bottom corner of the net on 18 minutes.
Ballyglass came back in to the game as half time approached and their best chance fell to Mark Quinn, However, he was unable to score against his former teammates.
The second half was a mere 8 minutes old when Padraig Conway doubled the visitors lead, Conway reveling in his new attacking role scored with a delightful left foot lob after been put through by David Roughneen.
From then on it was all one way traffic as Snugboro produced some outstanding attacking play but Prendergast in the home goal kept them at bay until the 85th minute when he was finally beaten by a John Roughneen special which found the top corner of the net.

Snugboro's recent monster draw to raise funds for the devopopment of an all weather playing pitch in the village proved to be a great success.
