An ongoing hearing in Ballina conducted by An Bord Pleanála, into the proposal to construct a Gas Terminal at Bellanaboy Bridge in North Mayo, has been told by representatives of the exploration company, Enterprise Energy Ireland, that it would be totally uneconomical to utilise an offshore platform option for bringing Gas ashore in Mayo. The company claimed that this option would add an additional €360 million to the project cost. A final decision on the proposal is expected next week.
