The first salmon of the year - a 9.5 lb fish taken at the Galway Weir Fishery on 18 Feb 2004

John Anderson, Moycullen, with the first salmon of the season from the Galway Weir Fishery. The 9.5 lb salmon was caught on February 18 and was taken on a Gold-bodied Gary-dog tube fly. The fish is being donated by Mr. Anderson to a Galway charitable organisation as has been the tradition over the years.
