Hundreds of pilgrims attended the traditional Good Friday "Turas na Croise" -"Stations of the Cross" at Máméan ( A Patrician place of Pilgrimage) in the Maamturk Mountains, County Galway.

A large crowd of up up 1000 persons from all over the Galway and Mayo Gaeltachtaí ( and further afield)assembled at Máméan in the Maamturk mountains, County Galway for the Annual Good Friday "Turas Na Croise"- "The Way Of The Cross."

The pilgrimage also included a rendering of the traditional hymn "Caoineadh na dTrí Mhuire" by Tomás Mac an Iomaire.

This years pilgrimage was held in glorious sunny conditions. While extremely coldit was an ideal day forwalking. Emergency cover was provided by Galway Mountain Rescue Team and leenane Branch of the Irish Red Cross.
