Do many people remember Pop Deane's well situated beside O Donnells ( across from St. Gerald's College. It was maintained and whitewashed by Pop Deane, who lived across from Hat Factory.

On the other side of o Donnell's property was the Mass Path. It went up past Mangan's garden and continued along the road to Ballinaglough. The mass apth is thought to go back to Penal times. Annie and Mamie Grehan used to walk to town each day with their cans of milk for sale.
