He was a great character and you'd often see him in King's pub in Spencer Street where he could tell a good tale or too.I believe his father was also a bell ringer and if memory serves me,there's mention of a bellringer/cryer named Cassidy from Mayo,in one of Synge's plays, the Playboy of the Western World,I think.
And because he had an unique occupation which is now gone,maybe the Town Council should mark it somehow.
